What have you been doing post OSA?

I live in New Orleans with my husband and daughter and we are expecting a second child.

Are there any career highlights that you'd like us to share and celebrate?

I founded a non-profit and grew the organization to 20 full time staff. I got a PhD in sociology. I am currently the Executive Director of the Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University New Orleans where I lead an endowed research institute that focuses on race, poverty, and criminal legal system reform. I've also written and passed multiple pieces of legislation in Louisiana, advocated for laws in five states, and organized a national campaign to contribute to restoring the Pell grant for incarcerated students.

How did attending OSA impact your life and career?

Too many ways for me to write from my phone- happy to give this more thought and perhaps answer in an interview if given the opportunity.

What does being from Oakland (or the greater Bay Area) mean to you?

I love being from California, but honestly New Orleans is my home and my heart.

What is your fondest memory of being a student at OSA?

Too many to pick one- again I'd probably need to reflect on this more.

Please share which teacher/class at OSA had the greatest impact on you and why:

David Graybill, John Pryzborowski, Tim'm West- their love and care for all of their students and especially the inspiration that they have me to love learning and seek justice
